HSBC Direct Swansea rise to Schools Challenge at Gnoll Park

Volunteers from HSBC Direct Swansea assisted schools and Local Businesses in South Wales to take part in a unique challenge aimed at schools that support children with special educational needs. During the third week of June 2011 2,000 children and young people from 95 schools took part in a week long event held at Neath’s Gnoll Country Park.


This year’s annual schools challenge saw schools from Neath and Port Talbot , Swansea, Bridgend and Carmarthenshire participate in this unique team challenges that are specifically designed to enable children and young people with special educational needs to compete for their school along with their mainstream peers.

Young people were able to develop confidence, leadership skills, self esteem and team building skills as well as having fun and getting very wet and muddy.

HSBC Direct Swansea supported the event this year by allowing 85 employees to attend the event in work time and help in running the activities.
Projects Manager for Local Aid Amanda Lervy, said: Without their help we could not have run the event.”
